2. Visiting the website and server log files

When you visit this website, the server necessarily processes your IP address in order to deliver the requested pages to your browser. Requests are not logged permanently, with one exception: requests that result in an error (e.g. pages that do not exist) are stored in a log file to detect and fend off attacks and to fix errors. It contains the IP address, date and time, the requested address, the status code, the amount of data transferred, the referring page and the browser identification.

The log files are deleted automatically after 14 days at the latest and are not combined with other data. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is the secure and error-free operation of the website.

3. Hosting

This website runs on a server of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (Oracle Corporation and its affiliates) in the Frankfurt am Main data centre. Oracle processes the data as a processor under the Oracle Data Processing Agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). The data is stored in Germany. Where access from countries outside the EU cannot be ruled out, it is based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses that are part of this agreement.

4. No cookies

This website sets no cookies. Only two settings are kept in your browser’s localStorage: the chosen appearance (light/dark/system) and the chosen language. They are never sent to the server, serve only the display and can be deleted at any time in your browser settings.

5. Visitor statistics with Umami

To see which projects people are interested in, I use the open-source software Umami. Umami runs on my own server (see section 3) at stats.digitalent.dev; no data is passed on to third parties.

Umami records the page visited, the referring page, date and time, browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language setting and the country derived from the IP address. The IP address is processed only briefly to determine the country and, together with the browser details and a regularly changing random value, to form an anonymous identifier; the IP address itself is not stored. Umami sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, does not follow you across other websites and builds no user profiles. The data cannot be linked to a person.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is the statistical evaluation of how this website is used. If “Do Not Track” is enabled in your browser, nothing is recorded. You can also object at any time, for example by blocking stats.digitalent.dev with a content blocker.

6. Fonts

The fonts used (Inter, Space Grotesk, JetBrains Mono) are served from this server. There is no connection to Google Fonts or any other external service.

7. Links to other websites

This website links to GitHub, Ko-fi and the projects presented. Only when you click such a link are you taken to that website, where its operator’s privacy policy applies.

8. Contact by e-mail

If you write me an e-mail, I process your details (e-mail address, content of the message) to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, or Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR for requests concerning a contract. The message is deleted once it has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

9. Your rights

Within the limits of the law, you have the right to:

• access your stored personal data (Art. 15 GDPR),
• rectification of incorrect data (Art. 16 GDPR),
• erasure (Art. 17 GDPR),
• restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
• data portability (Art. 20 GDPR) and
• object to the processing (Art. 21 GDPR).

You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, e.g. the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
